You write this as though you are God of the Universe. I say it all depends upon how strong one's mind is. The average TV brainwashed idiot's mind is a mess. Give the philosophy to one with a mind as strong as the Buddha's and, chances are, the results may very well BLOW YOUR PUNY MIND!!
I have learned that there is indeed an intelligence behind Nature that regulates and determines what plant, or creature, will prosper and which ones will not. I've learned that to be on the good side of this Universal Intelligence is the key to making philosophies like The Secret fully functional.
The Secret alludes to this, but doesn't say it. Personally, I don't fully agree with ANYONE'S philosophy. My beliefs are ALWAYS UP FOR IMPROVEMENT.
If you are truly wise you will not be so certain what is or is not possible until you fully understand the role consciousness plays in our perception of "reality"

HERE'S THE BIG PROBLEM WITH THE SECRET:
In order to make it work you have to REALLY, REALLY, REALLY WANT SOMETHING!! You have to be borderline obsessed with obtaining it to the point where you will remove ANYONE from your life if they try to stand in your way towards realizing your dream.
The best way to do this is to move away from EVERYONE you know and who knows your personality. Their presence will always keep you chained to who you were. To become a master of manifesting means you have to cut the proverbial chains of your past and stop dragging all that emotional baggage around UNLESS you are using it to motivate you to greater success.
People don't want things that much. Most are not willing to sacrifice whatever it may take to be successful. within moral boundaries. They choose the love of their limiting relatives and friends over the manifesting of their dream and, of course, they fail as a result and, also of course, want to blame the philosophy.
LOSERS REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DECISIONS THEY HAVE MADE WHICH HAVE CREATED THE VERY LIVES THEY LEAD!!!
And this comes back down to the decisions those three made to stay in the sweat lodge longer than they should have. They were risk takers who took one risk too many. That was THEIR DECISION, not Mr Rays. Just as Mr Ray was not responsible for those who chose not to participate he is also not responsible for those CONSENTING ADULTS who chose to go into the sweat lodge.
THEY WERE CONSENTING ADULTS NOT IRRESPONSIBLE CHILDREN, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!

HERE'S ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE SECRET:
You have to permanently revolutionize your way of thinking so that you view life from the perspective of The Secret and all related philosophies. How many people do you know who talk like Bob Proctor, eh? If you are determined to realize your dream this must be done, period, and there is no going back for to go back means to be in the failed position you were when you began your quest.
It's like this:
You have to completely revolutionize your thinking. If you can't even envision winning that medal you might as well not bother trying.
If you are determined to win an Olympic Gold Medal you have to become borderline obsessed with training. It has to become your whole world. Everything you do and eat is geared towards making you the best you have ever been in order to win.
You can't afford to associate with ANYONE who wants to bring you down
You have to cut all such people OUT OF YOUR LIFE or you can forget about winning that Gold Medal
Like Arnold did when reaching for the Mr Olympia title, you have to do whatever it takes, within moral reason, and eliminate everyone and everything from your life that is holding you down.
Of course, those pushing The Secret would not openly reveal this because the full truth of the matter would have sabotaged the sales of the DVD and the book!!!
THE CRIME OF THE SECRET, as Oprah Winfrey found out the hard way, is they make it sound so easy that any weak-willed, wishy-washy person can apply it and have guaranteed results.
Now, in certain things you may have quick and easy results. However, when it comes to realizing a lifelong dream it's going to take more than just wishing for it and releasing it to the Universe. You have to PROVE you really want that manifestation for as long as it takes to manifest it. If you are not willing to do so FORGET ABOUT BEING SUCCESSFUL with The Secret philosophy.
Being successful in any great thing will most probably take everything you've got for as long as it takes. You have to develop the art of using adversity to your advantage always ready to come out on top no matter what may happen.
The process is not as easy as The Secret would make it sound.
They said they used The Secret to create The Secret DVD. Did they just envision it, release it to the Universe and that's it? NO FRIGGIN BLOODY WAY!!! It took a hell of a lot of hard work dealing with disappointment after disappointment and being determined to succeed no matter what!!
Well, that's what it will most probably take to manifest any great thing in your life!

THE REAL PROBLEM WITH THE SECRET
Is NOT the philosophy. The overall philosophy has proven true and useful in my life.
The core problem is they make it seem so easy for any average weak-minded moron to do. Sorry, but things worth having, in life, are often VERY DIFFICULT to achieve and accomplish. You have to REALLY, REALLY want it or you will give up when the going gets tough.
If you just read The Secret, or watch the DVD, you will feel that you never have to worry about the going getting tough between yourself and what you are aiming to accomplish. You will not be warned that things might get VERY DIFFICULT and if you don't hang in there and refuse to give up you will NOT accomplish your manifestation.
THAT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW!!!
The Secret doesn't tell you this. You have to find it out for yourself THE HARD WAY, of course, AFTER you buy the DVD and/or book.
Besides that, The Secret is fantastic. Just because you are too much of a LOSER to make the philosophy work for YOU doesn't automatically mean others cannot make it work. It only means YOU cannot make it work.
Losers can't make much of any good thing work in their miserably skeptical lives. That's why they are LOSERS!!

Generally speaking, the LOSERS are people who are extremely skeptical that they can accomplish any great thing in life. They can't make The Secret work for them and they can't make ANY success strategy work for them.
THEY HAVE LOTS OF EXCUSES and people to blame. The problem is always because of someone else.

So, those of you who say The Secret is bogus are invalidating the wise sayings of many great people throughout the ages, including the Buddha.
You don't want to face the reality that the core problem with The Secret is they don't tell you how difficult it may be to manifest your dream. They don't tell you that it may take everything you have. They don't tell you that you have to keep pushing and refuse to give up no matter how bad things may get. They don't tell you that you may have to leave everyone who knows you behind because you cannot afford to have ANYONE hold you down.
I am now thinking of the Everybody Loves Raymond mother Marie. She's supposed to be all about love. A woman like her would MOST DEFINITELY sabotage your dream. She will hold you back, invalidate your efforts and keep you just where she wants you to be. The only way to realize your dream is you have to move FAR AWAY from such people and not associate with them much at all. You can't be telling them everything you are doing because, even over the phone, they will sabotage your dreams...out of love. All she ever really wants to do is make people fat. "Are you hungry?" is her theme song.
So, if you have such people in your lives 'who love you', know for a fact that as long as you continue to associate with such people you might as well throw the Secret in the trash because THEY WON'T LET YOU MAKE IT WORK!!!

Besides that the philosophy is indeed sound and based on great wisdom shared throughout the ages. This is a fact you skeptics don't want to face. You blindly say the entire philosophy is bogus because you losers tend to latch onto any and every excuse to justify your chronic laziness!!
You can't make The Secret or ANY OTHER SUCCESS STRATEGY work to better your life and, of course, it's all the philosophy's fault.

There was an agnostic atheist who called himself Naturyl. He was the owner of an Ezboard/YUKU message board forum that won awards. He enjoyed banning me then unbanning me just so that he could have fun banning me again.
He spoke out against The Secret with passionate vehemence. I gave him the challenge I gave you and EVEN AS YOU COULD NOT he could not list the main things, from the Secret summary, that he felt were bogus.
I kept telling him that if he kept railing against success strategies his life would spiral down to poverty. He refused to listen. Last I heard of him, on top of losing his computer repair business, he moved into a trailer park, can no longer afford an Internet connection and is occasionally posting from the library.
Keep talking against success strategies and you are asking to manifest FAILURE!!!

The most important thing is to present your dream to the Universe and strive YOUR VERY BEST to become sensitive enough to know whether or not the 'company' approves of you enough to grant your request.

The company will probably reject your order and not send you what you ordered.
To have 'good credit' with the Sentient, Conscious and Aware Universe requires that you live in a manner aiming towards VIRTUE, HONOR, INTEGRITY, COMPASSION AND GENEROSITY. These are the prime prerequisites for successful manifesting of positive things.

However, I feel nothing but compassion for you. I have no desire to hurt you any more than you are currently hurting.
We all get what we ask for in life. What we ask for is determined by the thoughts we habitually entertain. The Secret teaches that our thoughts can be like wishes. When we put down success strategies we end up putting ourselves down. YOU have found this out the hard way and I do indeed feel compassion for you.
